Visiting Medical Students

The Visiting Medical Student Program enriches both Duke University School of Medicine and the visiting medical student.

Applicants must be in good academic standing and actively progressing toward a Doctor of Medicine degree at an international medical school with whom an affiliation agreement is approved.

Underrepresented in Radiology Visiting Scholars Program @ Duke

The Department of Radiology will offer scholarships to multiple visiting students of identities underrepresented in radiology for the 2024 cycle. We strive to promote a diverse, inclusive, and welcoming environment and look forward to supporting your visiting rotation with our department.

Duke University School of Medicine requires an approved affiliation agreement with your home institution to allow for participation in the visiting medical student program and is required to be approved prior to application to the visiting medical student program.   All requests to establish said agreement must be submitted by a home school representative. Requests are to be emailed to Scott Campbell, Visiting Medical Student Coordinator at scott.campbell@duke.edu. The request should include the following:

  • Official Name of Medical School
  • Location of Medical School
  • Type of Program (ie: MD, DO, MBBS, etc)
  • Length of Program (ie: 4 years, 5 years)
  • Compelling educational reason to establish agreement
  • Contact information for requesting institution

Note: The affiliation agreement is the controlling factor for participation in the visiting medical student program at Duke University School of Medicine.
