Duke’s Community division’s radiologists are full members of the Duke Department of Radiology and each has sub-specialty fellowship training (including abdominal imaging, breast imaging, interventional radiology, musculoskeletal imaging, and neuroradiology).

  • MRI (available with true conscious sedation)

  • Ultrasound (including abdominal, pelvic, soft tissue and vascular ultrasound)

  • Fluoroscopically-guided procedures (including GI and GU radiology)

Interventional radiology services at Duke Raleigh Hospital

  • Vascular disease diagnosis and intervention
  • Oncologic diagnosis and management
  • Gastrointestinal interventions
  • Renal collecting system interventions
  • Hemodialysis access management
  • CT-guided and Ultrasound-guided percutaneous procedures

Breast Imaging services at Duke Cancer Center Macon Pond, Duke Raleigh Hospital’s Outpatient Imaging Center, and Duke Imaging Services Heritage (Wake Forest, NC)

  • Screening mammography
  • Diagnostic mammography
  • Breast ultrasound
  • Image-guided cyst aspirations, core needle biopsies, and wire-localizations

  • These images are read by board-certified radiologists who are subspecialized in fields that include abdominal imaging, breast imaging, musculoskeletal imaging, and thoracic imaging. As subspecialists, they are expertly equipped to accurately interpret scans of specific parts of the body.
