The Department of Radiology is pleased to sponsor a travel grant program which gives current Duke medical students an opportunity to explore professional opportunities in the field of Radiology by attending a national professional society conference.
- $700 maximum stipend for Duke medical students to reimburse conference travel expenses. This funding is intended to be used in conjunction with additional conference travel resources from the School of Medicine.
- Students are not eligible for this award if they have received external travel grants or scholarship awards related to attendance for the same meeting.
- Student must be 1st author for an accepted abstract presentation or an invited speaker at a major U.S. Radiology Professional Society conference
- The senior author on the accepted abstract or faculty sponsor for an invited talk must be a current faculty member in the Department of Radiology
- The deadline for application is 2 weeks after notification of abstract acceptance or receipt of speaker invitation.
- If multiple applications are received during a funding period, priority will be given to oral podium presentations and hypothesis-driven research projects.
- Students who have previously received this award are ineligible to reapply.
Up to 2 awards will be available for conferences taking place July 1-December 31 and up to 2 awards will be available for conferences taking place January 1-June 30.
