AUC for Advanced Imaging – Conflict of Interest

CONFLICT OF INTEREST

Consistent with existing DUHS policy, DUHS utilizes a publicly transparent process for identifying potential conflicts of interest (COI) and for resolving COI of members of the Evidence-Based Imaging Oversight & Steering Committee, Clinical Expertise Committee, and any other party participating in AUC development, modification or endorsement. All members were asked to disclose any conflicts of interest (https://dosi.duke.edu/conflict-interest/conflict-interest-reporting-form). Any member found to have participated in decision-making in violation of the DUHS COI Code will be immediately removed from the DUHS AUC program, and any AUC that the removed member was involved in developing, modifying, or endorsing will be reviewed and reconsidered as soon as is reasonably possible.

As part of this COI process, the Steering Committee documents the following information for all of the aforementioned parties and makes it available in a timely fashion to public request, for a period of not less than 5 years after the most recent published update of the relevant AUC: (A) Direct or indirect financial relationships (including without limitation compensation arrangements such as salary, grant, speaking or consulting fees, contract, or collaboration agreements) that exist between individuals or the spouse or minor child of individuals who has substantively participated in the development of AUC and companies or organizations including DUHS and any other party participating in AUC development, modification or endorsement that may financially benefit from the AUC. (B) Ownership or investment interests between individuals or the spouse or minor child of individuals who have substantively participated in the development of AUC and companies or organizations including DUHS or any other party participating in AUC development, modification, or endorsement that may financially benefit from the AUC.
