Terry Wong, M.D., Ph.D., and Satish Chitneni Ph.D. Visit Duke-NUS in Singapore

Dr. Terry Wong, PhD, (Chief, Nuclear Medicine Division) and Satish Chitneni, PhD, (Director, Translational PET/CT Molecular Imaging Center) visited Singapore December 4-11 to explore collaborative opportunities in radiochemistry and clinical radiology, with particular interest in the development of imaging biomarkers for immunotherapy. Their schedule included meetings with physicians and researchers at Singapore General Hospital (SGH) as well as engaging faculty from Duke-NUS Medical School. Wong provided a case-review lecture to the residents at SGH, and both Wong and Chitneni gave invited lectures on “Shifting Roles for Imaging in Oncology” at Singapore’s Clinical Imaging Research Center (CIRC). Wong and Chitneni both then attended the Peptides and Proteins Symposium Singapore, where Chitneni presented a poster on “Development of radiolabeled probes targeting MDM2 protein in cancers”. Dr. Ann-Marie Chacko, who heads the Duke-NUS Laboratory for Translational and Molecular Imaging (LTMI), was one of the organizers of the Symposium and hosted this visit along with Drs. Pat Casey (Vice Dean of Research, Duke-NUS) and Dr. David Ng (Head, Department of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging, SGH).

Dr. Chitneni’s visit was funded by a travel award from the Duke-NUS Office of Research.
