Congratulations Rajan Gupta, M.D., Named Division Chief of Abdominal Imaging

Announcement From Our Department Chairman, Erik Paulson, M.D.

“It gives me pleasure to announce a voluntary and planned transition in leadership in the Abdominal Imaging Division. Rajan Gupta, M.D. will assume the leadership role of Division Chief of Abdominal Imaging effective August 1, 2019. Raj is currently the Abdominal Imaging Fellowship Director and has taken on many roles in the Department, including Director of CME, Physician Lead in the Radiology Revenue Integrity Committee (RRIC), member of the Product and Resource Equipment Team (PERT) Committee, and co-Chair of the departmental website committee. Raj has also been a prolific and productive researcher with close ties to our colleagues in Genitourinary Oncology. He is a nationally recognized expert in prostate MR.

In addition to GU Oncology, Dr. Gupta is a high quality and high volume abdominal imager, skilled in all aspects of Abdominal Imaging. He has proven successful as a teacher and has served as a mentor to fellows and junior faculty.

Dr. Gupta received his undergraduate and medical degree from Northwestern University and served as a radiology resident at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center. He served admirably as a fellow at Duke in 2009. Since then, he has been a valuable member of our faculty and currently holds the rank of Associate Professor of Radiology.

I am delighted that Raj Gupta will take on this leadership position in the Department.

I would like to thank Tracy Jaffe, M.D. for her excellent leadership in Abdominal Imaging over the last seven years. Under Tracy’s watch, the Division has grown and maintained its position as one of the best in the country. Tracy will continue as Professor of Radiology and will take on additional leadership responsibilities in the Department, serving as Vice Chair of Clinical Affairs.”

Congratulations Raj!
