  • Kudos from a colleague, Sarah (Frush) Cotter, MD, Assistant Professor, Cardiothoracic Anesthesiology: “The family member of a good friend had an MRI at Duke after receiving limited care in a rural setting. I reached out to Mike to see if he’d be willing to read it; the baby has significant developmental delays and his parents have been searching for answers with limited resources. He not only read it the day of, he noted some concerning findings, reached out directly to the family and the neurologist, and facilitated an urgent admission and ultimately entry into a larger health system to help with ongoing complex medical management. I know you all do a lot of work that goes unseen, but the family is so very grateful and this was a life changing experience for them—notably, the first time they’ve felt seen and listened to in a healthcare setting. I really appreciate his collegiality, his professionalism and above all his commitment to patient care.”
