Karen Johnson, M.D., M.S., selected to lecture at the ACR Institute for Radiologic Pathology

Karen Johnson, M.D., M.S., has been selected as one of three Breast Radiologists to lecture at the ACR Institute for Radiologic Pathology. The AIRP teaches 95% of all North American radiology residents. Dr. Johnson is the Division Chief of Breast Imaging here at Duke Radiology.

Dr. Johnson was also recently featured in the Triangle Business Journal, discussing the benefits of early detection of breast cancer. In the article, she says: "Early detection of breast cancer is the key to better outcomes, and early detection is through mammograms. I would love for businesses to ask "Can we have every woman we employ over the age of 40 come in for her mammogram next Tuesday?" Any day: we even have Saturday clinics. That's a pie-in-the-sky dream of mine - that businesses would promote mammograms and allow for that time off from work. That would be a great way to ensure women are getting mammograms."
