The Appleseed Resident Teaching Awards were established in 2008 by Duke University School of Medicine in recognition of the best resident educators who have shown a genuine passion for mentoring the next generation of physicians. These awards are an annual tradition at Duke to honor the interns and residents in each program who best-exemplified excellence in the education and mentorship of second-year medical students. The awards are voted on annually by the second-year medical school class and less than ten percent of residents in the core clinical rotations of Medicine, Surgery, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Pediatrics, Psychiatry, Neurology, and Radiology are selected.
The Appleseed Award was presented by Katie Young, Appleseed Award Co-Chair, pictured here with the awardees, during the May 30, 2024, Radiology Grand Rounds.
