Research Interests Current work focuses on the instrumentation, reconstruction, and image processing issues in positron emission tomography (PET) and single photon emission computed tomography, both using standard and novel systems. Research includes assessment of qualitative and quantitative aspects image quality, particularly for larger patients that challenge PET and SPECT imaging systems. Research is also being done to improve calibration techniques for PET systems, and to improve image reconstruction in PET and SPECT. Additional research is being doing in a variety of areas (oncology, cardiology, neurology) that use PET and SPECT as a tool.
