Community Radiology

Overview

The Division of Community Radiology is dedicated to the delivery of high quality diagnostic and interventional radiology in the community setting. The Division’s radiologists are full-members of the Duke Department of Radiology and each has sub-specialty fellowship training (to include abdominal imaging, breast imaging, interventional radiology, musculoskeletal imaging, and neuroradiology).

The Division provides:

  • Procedural, inpatient, and emergency imaging services for Duke Raleigh Hospital
    • MRI (available with true conscious sedation)
    • Computed Tomography (CT)
    • Ultrasound (including abdominal, pelvic, soft tissue and vascular ultrasound)
    • Radiography
    • Fluoroscopically-guided procedures (including GI and GU radiology)
  • Interventional radiology services at Duke Raleigh Hospital
    • Vascular disease diagnosis and intervention
    • Oncologic diagnosis and management
    • Gastrointestinal interventions
    • Renal collecting system interventions
    • Hemodialysis access management
    • CT-guided and Ultrasound-guided percutanous procedures
  • Breast Imaging services at Duke Cancer Center Macon Pond and at Duke Raleigh Hospital’s Outpatient Imaging Center
    • Screening mammography
    • Diagnostic mammography
    • Breast ultrasound
    • Image guided cyst aspirations, large core needle biopsies, and wire-localizations
  • Support for Duke Radiology’s outpatient diagnostic imaging services throughout Wake County
