2017 Resident Graduation Banquet and Awards

On Friday, June 16th 2017, the Department of Radiology held the annual Resident Graduation Banquet and Awards Ceremony at the Washington Duke Inn. The Resident Class of 2017 was recognized for successful completion of their formal training in Diagnostic Radiology and Certification by the American Board of Radiology. As part of the honors, the graduating class was presented with the following awards:

  • Fellow Teaching Award Presented to the Fellow most dedicated to excellence in Resident Education: Michael Malinzak, M.D., Resident in Neuroradiology.
  • Reed P. Rice Memorial Award Presented to Junior Faculty dedicated to excellence in Resident Education: Joseph G. Mammarappallil, M.D., Ph.D., Assistant Professor of Radiology and a member of the Cardiothoracic Imaging Division.
  • William F. Barry, Jr, M.D., Memorial Award Presented to Senior Faculty For excellence in teaching: Jared D. Christensen, M.D. Assistant Professor of Radiology and Division Chief of the Cardiothoracic Imaging Division.
  • Carey E. Floyd, JR, Memorial Award for excellence in Imaging Physics Instruction Presented to: Joseph T. Davis, M.D. Medical Instructor and a member of the Pediatric Imaging Division
  • Charles E. Putman Memorial Award to Division most dedicated to excellence in Resident Education: Pediatric Imaging.
  • Resident Service Award: Michael Enslow, M.D. 
  • Resident Teaching Award: Michael Cho, M.D., M.P.H.
  • Medical Student Teaching Award: Michael Cho, M.D., M.P.H.
  • Roentgen Resident Research Award: Benjamin Wildman-Tobriner
  • Chief Residents Honored: Michael Enslow, M.D., Jennifer Shaffer-Ngo, M.D.,  Raj Gondalia, M.D., and Benjamin Wildman-Tobriner, M.D.
