CME and Visiting Fellowships

1 Week Visiting Fellowships for Practicing Radiologists

Visiting fellowships offer practicing radiologists an informal learning experience in a university hospital environment. The fellowships are designed to enable practicing radiologists to acquire basic or additional exposure and experience in chosen specialty imaging areas. Learning opportunities include participation in daily film/case reading sessions, lectures by Duke faculty and departmental teaching conferences. The fellowships are scheduled on a weekly basis year-round except for weeks of holidays and national radiology meetings.

Custom programs, as well as extended visiting fellowships for up to four weeks are also available in one or more specialty areas.

Visiting Fellowship in Musculoskeletal Magnetic Resonance Imaging

This four day fellowship is designed as a comprehensive overview of MR imaging of the musculoskeletal system. Didactic and interactive sessions on all aspects of musculoskeletal MR imaging will be held, with more in-depth sessions covering the major anatomic areas, such as the knee, shoulder, spine, and the foot and ankle. Basic physics as it relates to imaging, interesting cases, and imaging protocol application will be covered. Although the entire Duke University Radiology Musculoskeletal Section will participate, the majority of the lectures will be presented by Clyde Helms with an emphasis on practical, basic imaging techniques and application of MR imaging in a general radiology setting. Each session will have limited attendance to assure a more personal and interactive conference.
