Social Activities

Duke University Medical Center (DUMC) has a socially active radiology department. The academic year starts with a July 4th party welcoming the new class of residents.  Throughout the year, the department hosts special events and activities including an outing to a Durham Bulls minor league baseball game in August, a departmental picnic in September, a formal departmental cocktail party in October, a holiday party for the entire department in December, a golf tournament in May and the graduation banquet held in late June.  More casual social events occur throughout the year.  Additionally, residents can take advantage of University activities, such as lectures, concerts, shows and Duke basketball games.
